I tell my students, whatever you do, don't ever write \(\sin^{-2}x\).
Possible meanings:
  • \(\sin^{-1}(\sin^{-1}(x))\)
  • \((\sin^{-1}(x))^2\)
  • \(1 \over \sin^2(x) \)
