The computer chosen was the Atari 800. I think they offered a 400 as well, but I don't think anyone had one of those.

Correct, the Atari 400 was more affordable that the luxurious Atari 800, but it was with a very poor hard keyboard similar to the one found on the ZX81....

For this reason I prefered to buy a Commodore VIC20 that had a real and good keyboard and was into my teenager pocket money budget back then ....
