Make sure you press hard on the ERASE button, and then press hard and release the RESET button - then release ERASE. It is good practice to start with the calculator on, so when you do the right process, the calculator screen goes blank.

Then, open SAM-BA (I use version 2.18) and choose the /USBserial/COM that appears there - then continue the process
