I must not have been clear enough:

the problem is not the update of the HP-15C CE!!!

The problem is that the cable is not recognized by the Windows driver.
Sam-ba does not offer a COM port since the port is in error 10.
With SAM-ba 2.18 on Windows 10 the dirver is installed but remains in error 10
With SAM-ba 2.16 on Windows 7 the driver is installed but remains in error 10
Same with Vista ...
Whatever the SAM-BA version (from the Microchip site) and whatever the Windows system, the driver is installed but the cable is not recognized!
Thanks but RESET/ERASE cannot allow Windows to recognize the cable.
Too bad, it does not matter, I will give up.
