Pierre,

"Error 10" is a Windows driver problem and has nothing to do with the cable. That cable is a pure electrical connection. There's no electronics in it to go wrong.

In a WinXP virtual machine (VM) I had to install the Atmel (SAM-BA) driver but not on a Win7 one (it was built-in). I didn't try Vista.
