Yes, the Programming Contest used the current Gregorian calendar system for the entire year range specified (1583-9999). Reason: that's what most (all?) HP calculators do. I should have been specific about that in the contest rules, but thankfully the contestants all assumed it too. The only reason that I did not start at 15 Oct 1582 (like HP does) is because that would require special handling for that one year, and that would be more annoying than fun. And it's a good bet that the Gregorian calendar system will be abandoned long before 9999 rolls around... but I used the whole range because I used 7968 as one of the test cases (it has Feb 29, Mar 1, Mar 31, and Apr 1 as PDPs). <0|ΙΈ|0> -Joe- |
