That way I was able to reprocduce your "errors" which are exactly what is supposed to happen. The formula you see in the second case is just x*sin(x) in a more complicated form, because e^(ix) is cos(x)+isin(x) .
Thx! I found the settings for CAS by pressing SHIFT+SYMB and unchecking complex & approximation results in an expected symbolic solution!

IDK if ON+F3 is a full reset - it did nothing for me, the calc has come with CR2032 battery inside, it might remember settings from a previous owner.
