Copying a binary program on a 9825 tape
I'm getting a 9885M 8" floppy drive for one of my 9825s. This requires a special plug-in ROM for the front of the machine containing the disk I/O routines.
For whatever reason, the ability to format a disk is not included. That's on a supplied tape of disk utility routines. In other words you must always use a special binary program on the tape to format a disk. Now, here's my question: these old DC-100 tapes are very fragile, much more so than the later QIC tapes all of my machines have been modified to use. I'd like to move the binary program from the original tape to a QIC tape. I don't see any obvious way to do this. Does anyone have any ideas? |
