The modern english or german in that case has probably the saxon origin.
Not necessarily Celtic, a Latin origin is possible too. But both those ways have a common origin :-)

Moravia the region got its name from Moravia the river. Citing Wikipedia which cites some history book: The root of the river's name, mor-, is derived from the Proto-Indo-European word for 'water', 'marsh', from which the Latin word mare arose.
