HP-33C/34C Power Supply or Other Damage?

That's what I suspect as well, but I think something in the DC Power supply circuit has failed as there is no life when on battery power.

Could it be the transformer on the PS board? If it is a transistor, which one should I look for in the circuit?

I have the circuit diagram from HPCC, but wondering who else may have encountered the same problem before to give pointers.
