Except they were primarily:

1. Developed by huge teams of people in comparison.
2. Had much longer development time.
3. Had all the software in house and did not rely on 3rd parties to provide major components.
4. Had a fraction of the capability.
5. Were made by engineers for engineers instead of targetting a completely different group of people.

But yeah - very similar.
