Greetings, I was surprised to find many of the development tools included on the embedded gnu/linux yocto system on the Intel Edison, including automake, libtool, ncurses5dev, make, and others... I was able to download the htop sources from github and complete a flawless build ON the Edison itself. For those not in the know, htop is 'top' on steroids! Once you use it, you'll be crippled without it; its easily installed from repositories on the Raspberry PI, but on the Edison most everything needs to be built from sources; worked like a champ!
