The author of the WP 31S User’ Manual sent me the relevant page with the corrected key sequence.

Please note that the correction only involves the last few keystrokes (after 5 /).
They were: … + 1 x<>y
Corrected: … – 1 +

Also note that this way of doing things, starting at the innermost parentheses and working backwards to the leftmost part of the calculation, only takes 3 stack levels.
