I wonder if Chicago might have been close enough for you as well....it was held in the Chicago area six times (1980, 1984, 1989, 1990, 2001, 2005).

That's definitely close enough, only about 3 hours drive. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of the community at the time those conferences were held.

Happy to have discovered it now though.
