Measuring 30b CPU speed reduction

Do you have any numbers to quantify the effects of these things or any further details? After looking at the CPU's data sheet, it isn't clear that reducing saving a wait state is going to make a huge difference -- the flash has two sixteen byte read buffers which reduce accesses

I'm suspecting our slow mode ought to run a little slower to avoid the wait state on flash access (which we do a lot of). I'm not sure if slowing down to the R/C clock is viable or not.
