I can confirm that so far I haven't seen any issue with excessive standby battery drain. Since you published the binaries with "off" function, the batteries are still alive.

Since that last batch of batteries, I have not had the chance to do further testing (did not have any more on hand so I had put it off). I will test both the prior release and the newly posted on to see if there is any difference once I get a fresh set of AAA's again (this weekend, in fact).
