Pauli is right, the angle indicator is supposed to disappear and the calculator doesn't know it should convert the angle because it doesn't keep track of coordinate conversions across other operations like switching to degree mode.

This could be changed but my guess is it'd cause a rather big increase in firmware size so I'm not sure it'd be worth it.

(The ':' indicator shows the stack size: double, i.e. 8, in your case. A '.' would be shown if you switched to a 4 level stack.)
