HP-41C Sleeps Quickly
I just bought a 1983 fullnut HP41C with an eye toward a 41CL installation. The calculator powers up fine. I haven't done extensive testing but installing the byte grabber goes as expected. The calculator's ports are empty. There is no corrosion on the ports or on the battery contacts. I installed fresh batteries, and swapped those with know good batteries powering another calculator at one point.
The calculator sleeps about 12 seconds after becoming idle. I've never encountered behavior like this. Before I open the machine (as I must do to assess the 41CL install) can anyone shed any light on this behavior? The feet are well seated so I don't know if it has been opened before or not. Howard |
