We have not turned on the new update method by default. In the connkit, you can turn it on in your preferences. Now that you have the latest version, it will support the new update method. To get to this version however, there is no other way then the old "admin required" updater.

Why not just use the new method instead of giving a choice to use the old? If the option is for use in businesses, the user can just turn the option on him/herself anyway. You're not relying on that old security-by-ignorance method, are you?
