Double bah! I'd manually searched through my System32 folder for files starting with vc before posting and didn't find any. Sorry!

I think they're called something like msvcr90.dll etc...
No need to apologize, BTW. I appreciate that you tried to check. I anticipated this problem, and even when you told me that it was OK, my professional-software-developer paranoia made me double-check anyway. And next weekend I'm going to do the same for Windows 7.
