Let's consider for a moment that the calculator up for auction is the calculator used to find the 2.02 bug. That was over 40 years ago, not only was a battery recharge required, a battery rebuild was also required. It's likely that the unit was powered off while the pack was rebuilt.

So, if the memory was lost during the battery rebuild then the display/X-value was cleared. The 2.02 we see on the display is not the same 2.02 that was used to discover the bug. The 2.02 in the display is a reproduction.

The listing should be amended with the following disclaimer:

• The 2.02 in the display is not the actual 2.02 that was used to find the bug.

If it were the original 2.02 in the display, then the calculator would be worth much more. This was obviously rekeyed...
