The significance of the event might not be as grand, but it does make that calculator unique, and that makes it more valuable.

I understand what you mean, under that point of view it could be unique, I agree, but he has to prove it (difficult challenge I think, from the description in the auction it is not clear)...

If I've learned anything from watching Pawn Stars, it's that you can claim anything about an item to increase it's value, but if you can't prove it then it means nothing. The 35 seller claims that he was the guy that discovered the bug and with that calculator, but he has no proof (I asked). Consequently it's no more valuable than any other 35 with the bug. I believe I've seen these for around $200 before, so $2500 is way too much.
