The spacing seems ok, I forgot about the [space] character.

The problem really seems to be the space character. I loaded a formatted program listing into Word and set the font to HPprinter. After replacing the spaces with another character (e.g. the dot) everything aligns nicely. Compared to the original printout the characters only could be a bit taller, I think. But that's a minor issue.

Great, thank you. Now I downloaded the font file at http://www.teenix.org/HPprinter.ttf but I still get the same characters: f and g yield a small non-serif f and g, there is no a...d and the space has a different width. "d" is the down-arrow and "b" gives x-bar. So it seems to be the old version of the font file although the file sizes are different.

?!?
