Let's be clear about this definition. ROM means Read-Only Memory. Modern computers store their BIOS in flash which is Non-Volatile RAM, or NVRAM, meaning that the contents of memory is retained without power. Your computer's BIOS used to be stored in EPROM, a UV-erasable type of ROM. Our calculators may have NVRAM, but it shouldn't be referred to as ROM. Dave |
