Free42 on Win10?

It's pretty cute. It's a bit bigger than an HP200LX. It just fits snugly in the back pocket of a pair of jeans (but don't try to sit down). To give you an idea of actual size, I think they just repurposed a small tablet screen to use as its screen, mounting it sideways.

Battery life is... goofy. I get a day's intermittent use with it, but it seems to crap out overnight if you sleep it instead of hibernate it. I haven't really tracked that down. I've got it set up now so it hibernates instead of sleeps when you shut the lid, and I'm much happier.

I've been a mobile computing kind of person since my father got an HP-65, so these little things fascinate me. I have come to the conclusion that it is an amazingly good toy, better than my phone for short email and texting via Google Hangouts when I'm at a cafe, but not anything I'd want to do "real work" on without plugging it into a better screen and keyboard.

Performance-wise, I think it would be better with something like Android (or maybe Linux, although I hear horror stories of getting that running on it and haven't tried). I don't mind Windows 10 as an operating system, but it just feels a little laggy in comparison with a similarly-priced tablet or phone. My main beef is trying to use the Windows mail app.

It is an absolute blast to run the various HP emulators on, though. emu71 and pyilper work great together on it.

I am very happy I bought it, but I'm not convinced it's fully baked. I'm working up a blog-post review, and when I get it done (tomorrow, maybe?) I'll post a link.
