Did you receive an ebook via KINDLE direct download? I have a Kindle reader for my PC but I am unfamiliar with direct Kindle downloads, especially as I am sans-Kindle.

Yes, Kindle direct download, in all my devices, with the Kindle app. I don't use Windows for ebook reading, but I supose it's the same, all your apps are sincronized and the download will appear in all of them.
