Maybe this repair report and the contained link from Dave to Tony Duell's schematics for the 81 can help you? http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-5847.html On the same site there is also a schematic drawing for the 46 by Tony: http://www.hpmuseum.net/exhibit.php?hwdoc=214 If you compare both schematics maybe gives the answer(s).
