Yup. Per the same reasoning as libhpcalcs (portability and interoperability with other languages), there needs to be a C/C++ implementation offering a C API. Non-native frameworks (for a start: Java, C#) would be a worse choice; Java is widespread, but many non-Windows users refuse to install Mono.

Hmm... why multiple files for the metadata, when a single one containing version, metadata (author, etc.) and contents description (calculator files, screenshots, etc.) does the job ?
