Wickipedia say the HP-71B is made from 1984 to 1989. On the back of my device is this: USA 3001A00176.

Well, I was going to point to the HP-71B Compendium for a link to the manual, but it looks like that will have to wait for an update.

Your 1990 model is interesting, it may have been a factory replacement. Can you post some pics?
