Thank you for the link! But I'm afraid these male connectors don't have the right shape; there has to be an angle of 90 degrees between the retaining screws and the edge connector itself. The edge connector has to lie in the plane of the board, not upright. @ Paul: Below you find two additional photos. Yes, the spacing between the solder points is 0.1 inch. I am not quite sure if I understood your idea correctly, due to my limited English and my poor (read: zero) knowledge of electronics. At the moment the board is in the hands of Dominique Berget who is an expert and surely can estimate the chances for a repair with your replacement part. I will send him the link to this thread.
