The error makes sense. You are trying to add a list of 2 elements plus a list of 3 elements. It would be ambiguous otherwise.

{{1,1,1},{2,2,2},{3,3,3}}+{1,2,3} could be interpreted as:

{{2,3,4},{3,4,5},{4,5,6}} adding {1,2,3} to each list
or
{{2,2,2},{4,4,4},{6,6,6}} adding 1 to the 1st list, 2 to the 2nd, 3 to the 3rd.
