Here's a very arcane way of editing a matrix (using the MatrixWriter) whose name is on level 1 of the stack of a 48G/GX/G+. Press up-cursor, right-shift, VIEW (second menu key). After editing the matrix, press ENTER twice to exit. The name of the matrix will still be on level 1, but the edited version will now be stored in it.
