(DM42) Matrix exponential

Hi Werner
on DM42 I found that matrix functions are very effective
compared to user operations, so keeping a copy and adding of the Identity matrix really pays off.
Albert's algoritm is much more robust (no surprise there) and about 10% faster than my original implementation.
