The sticky HP 35s plastic case
I am new to the forum. I had removed my HP 35s from storage and was disappointed to find that the rubberization of the case was going bad. It became sticky, tacky, gooey, and rubs off. I have experienced this on sports and optical equipment before.
Soaking denatured alcohol into the material loosens it further. Using a plastic scraper, toothbrush, and paper towels, I was able to remove the rubberized material completely. I didn't know how it would look later, but it turned out well. Underneath, the case is covered with a cloth-like covering. I figured this information could be useful to someone someday. |
