It's interesting that you brought this up. I did this exact thing several years ago when I was first playing around with using the CRC as a source of random numbers for some Saturn code. The code runs too fast for me to actually see any patterns, but the result is somewhat hypnotic. I also used the CRC to randomly turn on/off the annunciators, but I do remember having to slow them down to even see what was going on. I might have to blow the dust off of this for some more experiments!
