The IR receiver on this modded 82240 is not where you would expect it to be. I had one like that, I unmodded it and it works fine.
The IR receiver is actually sunk in silicone goo and is poking out of where the AC input socket was. Take it out of there (carefully!), clean the silicone goo off it and re-solder it in place on the PCB. Your printer will be good as new except that it no longer has an external power input. I'm not bothered, I run mine off NiMH rechargeables anyway. |
