See if you can try it with the CL Expanded Memory ROM (mnemonic XPMM). Manual available here: http://systemyde.com/hp41/documents.html (It needs the Library#4 as well of course...

It uses the blocks at 801, 802 and 803 for direct register access or as a bulk backups, is that compatible with your extended X-Mem?
