Yes, graphics is important, but it needs of be very well thought in order to work seamlessly in different hardwares. Especially now that the Prime G1 port is underway, it needs to support colors, etc. and user interaction needs to work also with touch, so it's back to the drawing board for graphical APIs.
Both color and touch would also bring benefits to the PC and Android ports as well.
