Anything I should know before buying a 71B?

Is the HP-IL adapter version number printed/stamped on the chassis somewhere, or does one have to query the module to find it?

HP-IL adapters with version 1B firmware appeared around date code 8603 which is stamped on the module. Alternatively, executing VER$ will display the ROM versions.
