HP Prime - EOL

The 48SX was introduced in 1990 and the 48GX was discontinued in 2003, so a bit longer.

Product EOL is never announced years ahead of schedule, even if it were known that far ahead, which almost never happens. It certainly has not been announced for the Prime!

If you want to use a Prime, get one. They will only go up in price, not down. A product's price dropping is typically to clear the channels when a new replacement product is coming, so retailers have empty shelves and a real reason to buy the new models when those new ones are introduced.

When the Prime is discontinued, you can assume the price for the them will rise pretty quickly, as that will be the end of the line for the end of a long famous line.
