RE: HP 75 and the PIL-Box
TNX all for your virus checks. I'm glad that is false positive. Otherwise an infection would mean that I would have a major problem with my PC's... Also don't hesitate to publish such warnings, IMHO it's better one warning too much then one too less. Just read that Avast has also a major problem with a signature update for their Android virus scanner.

But I must confess that these program versions are on my hard disk in a IPv4 directory and, more important, unused. The published programs ILPer, ILPilbox, ILScope, ILVideo and ILVideo80 are compiled with the MSVC6.0 compiler. Because of this the network stack only supports IPv4. All my used programs had been compiled with VS2005 and therefore they need the VS2005 runtime, but they have a dual stack supporting IPv4 and IPv6.

Ok, this is nice to build a Virtual HP-IL loop with IPv6, but what about the controller Emu71/Win? Since v1.01 Emu71/Win already support the IPv4/IPv6 dual stack, so everything is fine.

But what advantages we have with IPv6 at the moment? None, but you can tell you're a nerd, using IPv6. ;-)

The motivation for me was learning to handle this technology. And on a Windows7 PC, with the VS2005 compiled program versions, Virtual HP-IL is using IPv6 by default. If you have only a IPv4 gateway or using an IPv4 address like "127.0.0.1", instead of the DNS name "localhost", the system automatically use IPv4 for this connection, so the solution is fully transparent. Tip for testing IPv6, the "localhost" address for IPv6 is "::1".

Are the programs with dual stack a must have for somebody out there?
