If the compiler is broken it's broken. If it's just a single optimization which can be disabled it will probably produce the same code as the previous version and we do not gain anything. OTH, the GCC project might benefit from our finding. The main task is identifying the location in the code where something goes wrong. It will most probably need some hardware debugging to find out.
