RE: WP 34S --> WP 31S

Either I was thinking about the log in the principal branch, hence Log or I've been doing too much Mathematica lately (I have proof on this very forum, so you will never know if that was a dirty trick, poor judgement due to calculator angst or something else .) (I have a busy day so I'll try to keep it short: ) OK, let's say we make it to look more like an HP, and we forget for a while about the LOG key . It's not easy: First iteration, WP 31S Eta Mu (obvious reasons). Let's go for the minimum compromises for both viewpoints. Notice the first row of just transcendentals! e next to Pi! (a lot of pending explanations.) Oh, but we forgot to keep the -> on the H.X keys, is that really so crucial? Maybe not so, but definitely could be a design constraint that hates us (more pending explanations). Maybe we can use the job we've just done too: Introducing the WP 31S CX!! Just joking... (Did you notice the missing arrows? -to fill in with details-), looks like there's an "almost" free position, and then MORE in an arrow saves a lot of mouse/finger travel. While we're on it, why not shortening the 5-char menu legends to 4 except for CLEAR? Let's try to use this, keep the original idea and solve this tough Rubik cube the best we can... And yes, it was hard and yes, I think we can. After a lot of concentration, just two options for the permutation of the last two secondary keys I could move. The Rubik Logical (it really should be this one, %CH on an arithmetic, x! with the transcendentals.) The Rubik Fun (x! there is bad for your education, but just too cool in a recursive way of multiplications. %CH over there looks almost HP to me.) Notice the alignments, columns, the thematic groupings, the keys with menus close to the arrows, the position of POL/REC... I'm totally flashing one! Manolo |
