Performance should still be fairly good, even with numeric arguments. I've got a handler for exact integers that can split a 2000-digit number into two 1000-digit integers in about 0.037s.

I also have a SysRPL version of a handler for reals that works under the previously-mentioned constraints, but it's not very efficient and slower than I'd like. I'm planning to replace it with a Saturn-based code object instead. Just have to get caught up on a couple other things first.
