HP Calcs displaying 10 decimal digits
Of the HP LED calculators, is the HP-35 the only one that can display 10 digits to the right of the decimal point? Does anyone know the history or why that changed?
Thanks, Bob |

Does anyone know the history or why that changed? It's quite possible that only the HP-35 could do that. I'd speculate that the FIX/SCI/ENG formatting keys needed to have a single digit argument therefore limiting the number of decimal places to 9. On the handheld calculators, the formatting keys started with the HP-80. On later models, the 32s/ii for example, setting more than 9 decimal places is a little strange, you need to key in FIX .0 to get 10 places and FIX .1 for 11 places. -katie |
