RE: Fix That Calc website
According to an entry in the HP support forums, he was planning to close his business by the end of 2014.

RE: Fix That Calc website
Does anybody know if he's even still alive? I would like to get my calculator back (even unfixed) that I sent to him in 2013 and I haven't received any word from him since 2014. Every so often I send an email asking for the return of my 42S and I it vanishes into the void.

RE: Fix That Calc website
I had sent Randy, at Fix That Calc, two HP-15C Limited Edition calculators, each with one key that does not perfectly click. I wrote him over a year ago, asking him to return these calculators to me .... so far nothing!

RE: Fix That Calc website
You might want to contact the Perkiomenville police or your local police for advice. I realize that may initially rub people wrongly.

Do not to make an accusation, but just explain he has been seriously ill in the past and would like to know if he is alive. Of course, you'll have to explain why, etc. The police may or may not tell you where he is but might be able to arrange a contact with relatives.

I have contacted police in situatinos which had nothing to do with deception. Simply trying to identify people who were hundreds of miles away from me. Several families had the same name. A call to the police, making it clear there was NOT "anything up" fixed my issue on the phone in about 2 minutes.

Just be straight forward he has property of yours and are trying to figure out how to contact point for him without causing a fuss.

Be clear you are not accusing him of anything. As the real possibility (and the most probable) Randy may no longer be in shape to manage his affairs. Realize whomever you do contact may be of minimal assistance. If you don't get your property back most likely it will be an honest "we can't locate it" as opposed to any deception.

Hopefully he is safe but I'll presume not well. Have had interactions with him myself and Randy seemed genuine and straight forward. Hence, I assume any family of his would be the same.

RE: Fix That Calc website
Has anyone tried the phone number on http://www.fixthatcalc.com/contact.php

Or the one listed at http://radaris.com/p/Randall/Sloyer/

The post at http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Calculators...4324#M5102 indicates that he was having health issues so it could very well be that he is unable to respond to emails.

RE: Fix That Calc website
Randy is still dealing with his health issue, and hopes to have good news early next year.

Although not yet ready to accept new work, if you believe he has your machine(s), please drop him a letter or postcard at the address from the website:

Fix That Calc.com
PO Box 193
Perkiomenville PA 18074
USA

and specify what machines you think he has, and if you would like them returned.

This PO box was out of use for a while, but has been restored and you will get a reply.

The email addresses shown are *not* in use; there will be no replies from email.

Please join me in wishing Randy good health and hope he comes back to the hobby soon.

RE: Fix That Calc website
A death in the family caused a lot of chaos and stress in the family and made Bruce unable to maintain the calculator repair business for the last year and a half. Neck surgery didn't help that situation either. But an update on his site yesterday, 2/23/17, says he will be getting back to the repairs and has some improvements in his process that should speed things up. He has a new phone number, 541-731-5130, which you can call 9:00 am to 8:00 pm PST. Note that he has moved.

RE: Fix That Calc website
You're right. My apologies. I confused them. Anyway, Vintage Calculator Repair, Bruce Larrabee's operation, seems to be coming back online.

Adam,

How about "Fix My Calc", "Fix Your Calc", or "Calc Doctor" as site titles and the domain can be related to the title you choose?
