(HP-65) … Average Skidding Distance for Logging Areas …
An extract from Computing Average Skidding Distance for Logging Areas with Irregular Boundaries and Variable Log Density, USDA FS, General Technical Report RM-58, SEP 1978
This report describes a computational routine to figure average skid distance for an irregular area with or without variable log density and presents a method to compute average yarding distance with a handheld calculator. Theory underlying this computer program is presented in an appendix, as is theory underlying the application of the variable log density formula, but understanding of this theory is not necessary to use the computer program … Program for a Hand-Held Computer The preceding algorithm is programed on the Hewlet-Packard 65, a hand-held programable calculator. Figures 3 and 4 show the coding and operating steps. Replete with theory, formula, illustration, listing, description etc. (& typos) enjoy. BEST! SlideRule |
