Getting Started with an HP-95LX
Hi all.
I will be a proud a parent of a 95LX next week. So, could you folks give me some pointers to get up, running and just having a fun time playing with this new toy? |

RE: Getting Started with an HP-95LX
The big draws are HP Calc, which is pretty much a 19BII, and Lotus 1-2-3, which is based on release 2.2 (I still use Lotus on my 200LX; I've yet to find a better handheld spreadsheet machine). The 95LX manual has a pretty good amount of 1-2-3 coverage, but if you can find a copy of Using 1-2-3 Release 2.2 (Que), you'll really be in business.
If you need a serial cable, the 95LX and 48SX/GX cables are identical. The 95LX should be able to handle PCMCIA SRAM cards up to a few megabytes. I don't recall the max, but I think it's at least 4 MB. And since it runs DOS, you can throw plenty of other software at it. GW-BASIC, for instance, runs quite well, and I seem to recall running QBASIC on one once. Are you getting a 512 KB or 1 MB model? Oh, and BE VERY CAREFUL not to install the batteries backwards. |

I'll let you know the RAM when I get it. Thanks for the battery warning!
