HP Prime G2 stuck in "Update Mode"

I am trying to apply the latest firmware update to my new G2--Hardware version D, Software version 2.0.0.13865 (2018-08-02). My Connectivity Kit is "Build 2.1.14181 (2018-10-16), and the firmware update I am trying to apply is "HP_Prime_Calculator_G2_Firmware_20200116.zip", which I obtained from the HP ftp site. The zip file is correctly installed in the Documents/HP Connectivity Kit/Firmware folder. I reset the calculator to the Update Mode with the reset button on the back and holding down the "Symb" key on the front. But the Connectivity Kit does not see the calculator when I plug it it. My computer does give me the alert that it recognized the device, and that it was "all set up and ready to use", but the CK does not see it. I am unable to turn the calculator off. It is stuck in Update Mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, but first, how do I get the calculator out of Update Mode? Can't turn it off, and I tried a ALPHA-C-F-O combination that was suggested in another post. It's just stuck! Thanks again for your help.

Alternative: poke the Reset hole in the middle of the back side with a paperclip.

Okay, thanks. I got the calculator back, and did the January update, but alas, I too have been hit by the loss of the touch screen. So I would like to try installing the 2018-10-16 firmware version. Do I need to do something first to roll back to the 2018-08-02 version that came on my calculator. Or can I just put the 2018-10-16 firmware in the firmware directory and simply overwrite the 2020-01-16 version?

I note that a couple of you seemed to be able to do the January update successfully. I note that the HP ftp site does not list a 2020 version of the Connectivity Kit. Is there one posted somewhere else? Or did those of you whose updates worked use the October 2018 version of the CK?

Okay, I successfully installed the Oct 2018 firmware (just overwriting the Jan 2020 version), and the touch screen is back. So now we need to figure out why some have been successful with the Jan 2020 update, and others like myself, not. I have hardware version D. Is that significant? And is there a companion Jan 2020 version of the CK?

This new calculator is a new adventure!
