MLDL2000 Manager Staus update
#1
A new year has started, so time for some news. And happy new year to all friends here.

I have made some decisions about the MLDL2000 Manager software:

The current M2kM (MLDL2000 Manager) version will be frozen and is primarily intended to be used together with the MLDL2000. There will be no further development or bugfixing in the non-hardware related parts of the software.
A new HP41 ROM Handler will be released with all hardware related functions removed. This version will be maintained and expanded and can be used seperate from any hardware for users of the DM41X, 41CL, V41, i41C. It contains everything from M2kM expect hardware communications:
- ROM Disassembler
- ROM file manipulation
- MOD file manipulation
Windows will be first, I also hope to support Linux and iOS.

Some other new things are being considered, more news to follow

I am currently configuring a github repository with all files, sources and documentation, plus the MLDL2000 schematics. When this is ready I will let you know.

Sounds great. Perhaps this will allow even a newbie (like me) to create a .MOD file.

As I understand it, the two are merging and the distinction will soon be moot. Of course, I have no idea what "soon" actually means...

Is the MLDL based hardware still in production anywhere? I fear it exists only in the hands of satisfied users by now.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, no.

Eagerly awaiting the new goods...'thanks a million for your contributions.

In the meantime, can you remind me where is the current ML2K for download? Afraid my Win10 is still refusing to cooperate (can't disassemble ROMs) and i wonder if I have the latest version of the ML2k...

No, I will not make any more. I would recommend the HP41CL, DM41X or one of the NoVRAM variants as a real good alternative (no specific preferred order)

Thank you, Meindert. That is as I expected. I do already have one each of those recommendations, and find them to be excellent products each in their own niche application. Perhaps I'll actually add a signature to my profile reflecting what few pieces I do have. Looking at some of the museum grade collections I have seen here, I am almost embarrassed.
